Piles of plastic garbage in the North Pacific ocean has increased 100-fold in the last 40 years, according to new research.

As quoted from Dawn, scientists warn pile of microplastic; plastic particles smaller than 5 mm, which would threaten the marine ecosystem.

"Whereas in 1972 until 1987, no microplastic found in the sea," said the paper Royal Society journal Biology Letters.

Now scientists are estimating the mass of waste, known as the North Pacific Subtropical Gyre (NPSG) or 'the biggest trash in the Pacific', the same size as the Texas, U.S. (Taken from any sources)
