As quoted from GeoTV, not getting enough sleep can trigger hormones that control hunger, according to a paper presented at the European Congress on Obesity in Lyon, France.

"Late nights can increase hunger by 25 percent," said the scientists.

"If the analogy with the delivery of calories, then the people who sleep less may take 350 to 500 calories per day," said Karien Spiegel of the University of Lyon, who led the study. (Taken from any sources)
